We have now successfully completed 3 weeks back at school, the summer holidays seem like a distant memory but what a superb start to the year we have had.

We have had an amazing start back to the school, the pupils are working hard and are motivated to succeed. We have launched our new One School Citation programme and pupils have started ferociously and are already amassing plenty of citations. We look forward to seeing pupils soon be awarded with their bronze, silver or gold certificates. Remember the One School Citations dictate the winners of the One School awards at the end of the year at our annual celebration event.

Carla and Conran in their roles of Student Captain and School bursar have also started with passion and enthusiasm. We have already had our first student council meeting and first house captain meeting. There have been lots of great ideas coming out of the meetings and we look forward to sharing these with you. Look out for our half termly update from the student council.

I have to say that I have been very impressed with the team work that is being demonstrated by our sixth formers, they are a credit to the school and are setting the bar high for the younger pupils. I look forward to seeing them continue to lead the school in a positive manner.

Remember a rising tide raises all ships!

The pupils are preparing for the final of the Great Cottingham Bake Off as well as the House Music Competition to be held in December.

On Monday we are welcoming to the school Kim Popratnjak, who is the new regional principal for schools in the northern area, she is overseeing the Northern Ireland schools, Cottingham, Bramley and Long Eaton. She has heard great things about Cottingham Campus and we are looking forward to sharing the hard work with her. I personally am looking forward to introducing her to Team Cottingham.

We wish you all a good weekend and look forward to updating you further with the developments of Team Cottingham.

Kind Regards

Mrs K Hutton
